John William's approach to songwriting and delivery is refreshing. His debut record won him a regional ASCAP songwriting 2nd place award for the first cut, "Last Love". This song also took first at the 2005 I Write the Songs songwriting contest. This first project is a great mix of Acoustic Rock and Americana with hints of Blues and Country. John writes of issues close to him, love, loss, patriotism and faith.
May 2008 -The John William Band has just returned from another fantastic trip to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. John and band played there in 2006, as well. Thanks to all those who made this possible and to those troops who made the trip so memorable!
John's latest project is one that is sure to interest all who are concerned about the safety of children. John became burdened with the issue of missing children years ago and out of that has come "Wherever You Are", a ballad of encouragement for families and friends who suffer the loss of children through abduction. In 2007 John supported NCMEC (National Center for Missing Exploited Children) with the download charges.John plans to continue to use the song to help raise awareness of missing kids but mostly hopes that "Wherever You Are" may help heal the brokenness that is the result of the tragic events of child abductions. If you know of anyone who has or is now suffering due to an abducted or runaway child, please contact John at info@johnwilliammusic.com or 601.259.1062. "I want anyone who is suffering the loss of a child to have this song. I think it could help them express what is inside them and my hope is that it will be therapeutic."
